Basically, I really llike the FireFox browser. It is faster than Internet Explorer and more reliable. While I was webhosting support, I had to open many web pages via single web browser. The truth is that Internet Explorer cannot handle so many web pages opened into tabs like FireFox. It starts crashing and the windows becomes very unstable. FireFox also have very good variety of addons which you can use. Personnally I am using ReloadEvery, Clipping and spell checker addons. Such addons are not available in the Internet explorer. Actually I have found pretty the same but they were called IE7 Tools. Unfortunately Internet Explorer became unstable with them. The thing is that I really do not like any addons or BHO (Browser Helper Objects) to be installed on my Internet Explorer because it becomes unstable. Right now there are many of them starting with Google, ICQ, Winamp and so many toolbars. The thing is that these addons can monitor the whole traffic which you are opening and send information to a third parties which is not pretty secure. I have seen a lot of Internet Explorers that cannot open any web pages because of such addons. The truth is that I will never save my password in my Internet Explorer or FireFox because of two main reasons. If someone gain access over my PC, he or she will be able to login at the web pages through my computer and benefit of the online services that I am paying for. The second thing is because of the hacking thing is that because there are many software that can actually read the passwords when they are shown on the screen. The interesting thing is that everybody claims that FireFox is more secure browser than Internet Explorer with these issues. I really do not agree with this fact. The truth is that Internet Explorer has no option to show the saved passwords by itself, but the Firefox has such option. Basically if some has gained physical or remote access over your PC, he or she will be able to see your stored password by several clicks on the FireFox interface. Is that secure ???? I don't think so. Take a look how easy it is: 1. Open your FireFox browser and click on the Tools Menu 2. Click Options 3. Click on the Security Tab 4. Click on the Saved passwords button 5. Click on the "Show passwords" button Ooops I am see someone's password for online banking right now. Interesting fact isn't it ? What is my recommendation ? Do not use FireFox browser for online banking or security web pages. Do not install any toolbars, ActiveX controls or BHO that you really do not know. Keep your computer and Antivirus up to date. Enjoy the FireFox browser, but do not belive that it is more secure than Internet Explorer. |
