Nowadays it became important to keep our computers up to date due to lots of security reasons. There are many viruses, security issues with the operating system and with the software that you are using. People do not really think that the software that they are using everyday may crash or may allow some attacker to benefit of their computer and personal details. Software developers are constantly upgrading their software to keep it safer, but if we disable the automatic upgrade option on our operating system/software we are opening a tiny door for the attackers to benefit of our computer data. Here are several tips how to keep the Windows XP computer up to date: 1. Visit the Microsoft Windows update web page via your Internet Explorer browser:http://update.micosoft.com or http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate 2. Make sure that you are using the latest service pack of the Windows operating system (the current version of Windows XP x86 edition is Service Pack 3). 3. Access your computer vendors support page to upgrade your drivers with the latest available version. Because there quite a lot computer vendors web pages I will provide you with the most common web pages: 3.1. DELL 3.2. HP/COMPAQ 3.3. IBM 3.4. Lenovo 3.5. Asus 3.6. Acer 3.7. Toshiba 3.8. Gateway 3.9. MSI 3.10. SONY Please note that the drivers that the computer vendor's web pages are providing are not always the latest ones. If your computer is older than a year I can recommend you to request Free IT support by registering at this web page and submitting a ticket. In order to upgrade software that you are using you can search into the Help Menu - there usually is the option to check for upgrades. If there is no such option I can suggest you to visit the software vendor's web page. If you are experiencing any difficulties you can always request Free IT support by registering at this web page and submitting a ticket. |
